TO.GO Transmitters with Dual Code & Back Compatibility

Our TO.GO transmitters are small but mighty and are the most important element of an install for the end user, allowing them control of their system by a simple click of a button.

Over time, Benincà have improved the TO.GO transmitters and previous editions such as the TO.GOWV have been discontinued and made way for the new TO.GOVA transmitter, available in both 2 and 4 button options. The TO.GO2VA and TO.GO4VA are super secure with 128bit advanced rolling code technology.

ARC Technology: Delivering higher levels of security and reliability.

Thanks to the length of its transmitted code, our new 128bit Advanced Rolling Code (ARC) provides maximum security. Compared to the older 64bit rolling code, the new ARC technology offers a transmitter that is virtually impossible to clone.

Dual Code

The TO.GOVA transmitter is equipped with dual coding, which means it can be set to Advanced Rolling Code (128bit) and standard Rolling Code (64 bit).

Back Compatibility

As standard, the TO.GOVA comes with 128bit encryptionso is suitable and requires no adjustments for new installs. However, a common issue flagged by installers upon purchasing a new 128bit transmitter, is that the new transmitter is not compatible with existing and older equipment which is set to 64bit. The dual coding solves this problem, allowing the installer the option to switch the transmitter to the required 64bit code (HCS), with a simple two button sequence.

The video below gives instructions on how to change a TO.GOVA code type:

As you can see from the video there are some simple steps you can perform to switch the TO.GOVA code type, however, if you do have any further questions our technical team would be happy to assist.

Tips for protecting electric gates in adverse weather conditions

On Sunday 24th January, we experienced our first heavy snowfall down in Berkshire, where Benincà UK is located. This has been threatened for a while and whilst it brings joy for many, it can unfortunately cause problems for your electric gates.

With that in mind, we wanted to flag how below freezing temperatures and adverse weather can take its toll and impact on the smooth functioning of electric gates and have pulled together some helpful tips below:

1. Throughout the winter months and especially when temperatures begin to drop below freezing, we always recommend not to leave your gates unused and run them a few times to get everything moving as you’d expect. Low temperatures and moist environments can cause parts to seize, don’t let that one morning where the gates won’t open be a surprise, be prepared.

2. Especially with hydraulic operators, whilst the oil has a very low freezing point, the colder the outside temperature the more solid the oil will become, and it may cause your gate motors to stop working correctly. Special ‘winter oil’ is available but also keeping the hydraulic temperature up through regular opening and closing cycles will help.

3. This may seem an obvious one, but if there has been some snowfall, any snow can act as an obstacle for the gate, so please make sure you clear the surrounding area of the gate, so the snow doesn’t act as a block and stop the gate from functioning.

4. Photocells are fundamental to the safety of your gate system. They make the safety circuit via an IR beam between the receiver and transmitter. Always make sure you wipe them clean and remove any frost or snow, as if the sensors become blocked, they will stop the gate from working. You can simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth using warm water.

5. In very cold conditions it is common for locks to seize and even gate hinges to freeze and become stiff or even frozen solid. Everything has a freezing point and in the UK we have a humid climate so the addition of moisture combined with freezing temperatures, means locks, maglocks and other moving parts can become frozen. To help avoid this from happening, we recommend adding a small amount of WD40 to the area. Whilst the WD-40 will not stop the low temperatures, it will strip a lot of moisture so will prevent the frozen lock in some cases. We always advise that when the temperature is back to normal, to wipe clean anything that has been sprayed with WD-40.

6. Always check your safety systems and make sure all safety circuits work as normal. It should be common practice for regular maintenance of your safety devices such as rubber safety edges. Give the gates an open and close command and apply pressure to safety edges to make sure the system works as intended. It is possible that again, with added moisture in the environment, some safety edge circuits such as rubber edges can be prone to perform differently, or not at all. Whilst they should always ‘fail safe’……it’s good practice to check your gate system during this cold spell and beyond.

7. Do you have an intercom system? In very low temperatures the camera on a video intercom may be covered with snowfall and although unlikely, it is possible that the buttons on your call point or keypad could become stuck, so check them, don’t miss an important visitor in this spell of cold weather.

8. Does your gate motor have enough torque, and has it been set up correctly? The majority of Beninca gate motors have electronic control of motor torque and many have the ability of an auto-set feature. If installed in the height of summer, with newly installed hinges the movement of the gates that defined the auto set up will be very different to operating them today in the cold weather snap. If the torque settings were not set adequately your gate system may not close fully or have false safety triggers where it believes it is sensing an obstacle. Have your gate system regularly serviced to make sure the system is set up correctly and working as intended.

We hope the above tips have been useful, however if you do have any further queries, please do give us a call on 01488 658276 and our team here at Benincà UK would be more than happy to answer your questions.

Introducing the new XLB enclosure

The brand new XLB Benincà enclosure is the latest product to follow on from the SBHB and LB versions. Benincà have made improvements to the previous editions, with the new XLB including a front clip connector and has three different entry points for wires giving an overall neater solution for installation.

The new XLB is now the largest branded enclosure we have available, with the overall dimensions being 264mm wide x 345mm high x 130mm deep. This larger version is suitable for both domestic and commercial installs but provides even more room for the control panel and power supplies to be housed safely and securely. The box is made from plastic, ensuring it will not rust or weather from being out in the elements over time.

There is also the option to add the XLB.L, a compact LED flashing light with 24 VDC power supply. You can either look to mount the lamp within the XLB enclosure or externally. The light can then be set to either an intermittent flash or solid light.

Brighter days are coming

January hits hard, but January combined will full lockdown, definitely hits harder than ever before.

Unfortunately, there is still a huge stigma around mental health but 1 in 4 people will experience a problem of some kind each year in England, so for anyone reading this, we want to tell you:

It’s ok if today isn’t your day!

As we currently all look to keep ourselves safe and well, lockdown can be a very lonely place, so please don’t forget to look after your mind, as well as your body.

Looking to the year ahead, there are still so many uncertainties and we are all experiencing different struggles. A quote which spoke volumes to us, ‘We’re in the same storm, but not the same boat.’

So this is a reminder, please allow yourself to feel those emotions, talk about them and reach out, there is so much help available.

In light of the above, our chosen charity for 2021 will be Mind, all fundraising by Beninca UK throughout the year will be donated to help support the fantastic work they do.

If you need help, please visit their website for full details: mind.org.uk, or you can call on 0300 123 3393 or email info@mind.org.uk.

Stay strong! We are on the home straight and hope is in sight, with brighter days on their way

A warm welcome to Sam…

We feel privileged to be in a position of expanding our team and are delighted to announce that Sam Weedon has recently joined us as Sales Administrator.

Sam studied Economics, Business, and Maths for A-Level whilst at Kennet School in 2019 and is currently completing a Level 3 Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship with The West Berkshire Training Consortium. Once again, we are proud to support The West Berkshire Training Consortium, with Sam now being our third apprentice to join Benincà UK via the scheme.

Sam brings with him so much enthusiasm and has impressed the entire team immensely with the rate at which he has already picked up product knowledge. Joining the company at an unusual time hasn’t deterred Sam, but rather allowed him to showcase his resilience and adaptability.

Outside of work, Sam is a keen rugby and football fan, supporting Arsenal, and loves nothing better than watching a good movie.

As it stands, we are not sure when you will have the pleasure of meeting Sam in person, but in the meantime, please do join us in giving Sam a warm welcome, whether that be over the telephone or email, as he settles further into his role and learns the world of Automation.

If you wish to contact Sam, you can reach him directly on:
